Please Leave Pets at Home

Summer Shade Festival August 28 & 29, 2010 - Please Leave Your Pets at Home A city ordinance, in place since December 2003, prohibits pets in outdoor Festival areas where attendance is expected to be greater than 10,000 people.  The ordinance includes all dogs, cats, birds, lizards, snakes, etc with the exception of guide dogs or sanctioned animal acts or displays.  It is designed to insure the safety of people attending an outdoor Festival and for the safety and well-being of the animals.

In only its 8h year, the Grant Park Summer Shade Festival has exceeded all expectations and become one of the fastest growing intown Festivals in Atlanta.  The 2010 Festival is projected to draw more than 20,000 attendees over the two days of the event and therefore moves into a new designation under the outdoor Festivals ordinance. The Festival respectfully requests that attendees leave pets at home.  Pet owners who bring animals to the Festival are subject to tickets and fines.

Also for the safety of Festival attendees we can not allow glass containers, personal grills, staking of tents/games, skating, skateboarding or roller blades.  Bicycles or push scooters must be walked through the Festival area.  Help us keep the Festival  a safe and pleasant experience for all who attend and help us comply with the city ordinance.  Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
