2011 Non Juried Artist Market Applicactions Available Now.

The 2011 Summer Shade Festival is currently accepting applications for its Non Juried Artist Market scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, August 27th and 28th. Sponsored by The Grant Park Conservancy and a host of business supporters, the 9th Annual Summer Shade Festival is on track to continue its growth as one of Atlanta’s coolest events. The festival is located in historic L.P. Grant Park and is easily accessed from Interstate highways I-20 and I-75/85. The setting provides a wonderful shady backdrop for the Festival.
The weekend is filled with a variety of featured events including the Juried and Non Juried Artist Market, food vendors, the Adams Realtors 5K Run for the Park on Saturday morning, live performance stages, a children’s fun center and our fine food and wine event – Corks & Forks. We anticipate up to 30,000 attendees during the two day festival. Proceeds from the festival benefit the Grant Park Conservancy and its efforts to restore this historic green space.
The submission of an application does not guarantee space. A non-refundable application fee of $15 is required. Those selected/invited will have 15 days to submit booth fees. Since we have a limited number of 10’x10’ spaces, we recommend you complete and submit your application at the earliest date listed below to take advantage of pricing and to give our Selection Committee sufficient time to review your entry. The Review Committee meets shortly after each deadline or until allocated space is filled. Committee decisions are final. Fees for participation are:

April 15 - $200.00 + $15.00 application fee
June 1 - $225.00 + $15.00 application fee (if space is available)
After June 1, 2011 - $300 + $15 application fee (if space is available)
All Exhibitors are required to have a 10’x10’ tent (white is preferred). No branded tents are allowed without permission of the Festival. You may provide your own tent or request a tent from the Festival ($275 weekend rental includes set up/take down, weighting, two chairs, one six foot table; side panels can be provided upon request at a cost of $12 per side. Prices subject to change.). Tents must be weighted on all corners to secure them in case of storm or wind. Electricity is not available and generators are not allowed. Battery or solar lighting is allowed. No staking of tents or for any other purpose is allowed.
Please submit check (application fee) payable to the Summer Shade Festival and mail with the completed application/registration to 2011 Summer Shade Festival, PO Box 89189, Atlanta, GA 30312-9998. Credit cards are accepted - please see application (attached below) for details . Cancellations or withdrawals may be requested (in writing) by August 1 for a refund of booth fees. The Festival will retain a $25.00 processing fee. No refunds are available after August 1. The Festival will feature both a juried artist market and a non juried artist market. What's the difference between the two? A committee of local artists will review all applications for the juried section. Artists accepted to the juried section are eligible for cash prizes - Best of Show, Second Place, Third Place and Honorable Mention. Artists participating in the non juried section are selected by the Festival Committee and are not eligible for judging/prizes.
